“Stitched” (in Danish: “Sting”) is a symbolic act of repair and a silent protest against the ways in which we exploit the earth.
The piece is made of copper pipes, seemingly threaded through the grounds of Reventlow Museum for In Situ Lolland‘s 10 year anniversary group exhibition.The theme of the exhibition is freedom of speech and my work is intended as a symbolic gesture that tries to speak for the earth without using words: An idea of performing a loving and caring act, mending the planet that we treat so harshly.
As time passes the copper will darken and the grass and flowers will slowly start to engulf my piece, covering up the crevice dug in the middle of the installation in the process.
